Those colleges which offer D.El.Ed courses have different eligibility criteria. Few colleges offer admission on the basis of a 10+2 score while others conduct their own entrance exams. Those candidates who want to pursue D.El.Ed need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria.

Eligibility:
- Candidates should have done their 10+2 from a recognized board.
- The total marks should be an aggregate of 50 per cent marks or its equivalent at 10+2 level.
- The age bar may vary from one state to another state board. However, generally the minimum age criteria is 18 years and maximum age limit is 35 years.
- Candidates should have good command over communication skills, creative thinking, patience and have an aptitude to teach.
